This morning I come down to turn on my cell phone and have two voicemails already! We had taken our time upstairs, unpacking suitcases from the weekend and doing laundry and I had thought about coming to get my phone, but never had. One was from Cassi telling me about a great Mommy & Me special running at the Aquarium for $20 for an adult and kids, including parking! It ended tomorrow, so she and a friend were going spontaneously! My other voicemail was from Emily checking in and so I asked if she wanted to join us. Somehow we managed to make it happen, even if it was noon before we got down there! Right at nap times! Perfect timing. But, we pushed through and had a good time. First thing when we get there, we realize I left my camera in the car and Emily gets out her camera, but the memory card is still in her computer at home! So, she runs back out to the car to get my camera. We wander around for a few minutes looking for Cassi, before I realize I have Emily’s phone, too, so she can’t call me when she gets back, so we head back out to the main entrance and find her, thankfully. Then, it was time to feed Samuel, so she sits and feeds him while we wander on for a little bit. Having been there before, we knew a little more where to go and what we could bypass and didn’t have to rush as much to make sure we saw it all, but just get in what we wanted and we were even able to play in the actual kids playground area at the end. Emily had been there before, too, but during private fancy corporate dinner events for Daniel’s work, so it was a little different to her not to have the bar or desserts set up in the aisles! Frankly, I think they need those during normal operating hours, too! It was fun to watch Samuel looking around and he was a trooper. We ran into Cassi a few times, but managed to get separated and not catch back up somehow before leaving. They had a line to “peek at the penguins” that I would have loved to do, had there been no line. ;) and one day I want to try the 3D movie with Dellaina. Not sure how it’d go with Wyatt, especially trying to keep the glasses on him!
eww, those garden eels (although learning the proper name was pretty cool) still wig me out.
jellyfish are still so cool. although they all seemed to disappear this time and take a while to float back into view.
and Dellaina was a turkey for pictures. Good thing Wyatt is so happy.
these jellyfish glow and change colors!
love how the person’s hair behind me makes it look like I’m having a really bad Mohawk hair day!
We meet up with Cassi, M&M and their friends, Anna & Julia (and mama Stacy, also snapping pictures!)
we could have been anywhere with a blue wall, but I swear we are at the Aquarium! ;) On the moving sidewalk part where you go through the tunnel and don’t have to worry about running into people while you look up.
lots of cool bubbles to look in and crawl into.
even though it’s a little dark and blurry, I love this shot.
yes, that would be my kids wrestling in the corner. . .
looks like she won? but, most likely she’s just retreating!
touch! touch! was Wyatt’s refrain for a while.
proper form, excellent two finger touching! such a rules girl.
Wyatt is just splashing up a storm.
Emily found Mimzy and GPA’s fish on the wall and we took a picture. It was pretty cool. They had a computer kiosk to enter your name and then it light up your name across the wall and then the spot where your fish was located! Of course, Dellaina wanted a turn, but I had to try to explain there was nothing for us to enter and search for or do!
whale slide. .Wyatt just dove right in when we got to the top, good thing he’s an expert slider and knows how to flip over on his belly.
I had to get down, too! It was the fastest route.
It was a fun day. But, it took it all out of them and they were worn out. Wyatt and Samuel were just about out by the time we got out of the parking deck! We opted to go through the drive thru at Wendy’s when we got off the exit for Emily’s house and she offered to let us nap at her house. I was hoping to transfer Wyatt, but he woke up and would have none of it! So, he came back downstairs with me to eat. I thought I’d try again once we ate and had Dellaina, too, but then she had an accident. She’d just gone with Emily, but apparently, not completely! And while Emily was upstairs checking on Samuel and I was in the middle of changing Wyatt’s diaper, she announces urgently she has to go peepee! I couldn’t help her instantly and she wasn’t fast enough. Sigh. I had brought a change of clothes for Wyatt, but just a shirt for her. Emily found an old pair of her underwear and we safety pinned it on, but we still needed to get home! Dellaina had a meltdown because we weren’t sleeping at Emily’s after that was the plan. When we got back home, I got her inside and laying down finally and Wyatt in his crib. He’d fuss and then be quiet and then cry out and then be quiet then the phone would ring and he’d cry, but finally, miraculously, he did go on to sleep as did she – after 5:00!! And when Greg got home, amazingly the dogs didn’t bark and wake them up! It worked out really well because I had a meeting at 6:30 for the BOD of the neighborhood HOA, so Greg got to get home and get worked out and woke them up when he was done, fed them, bathed them and somehow he managed to eat dinner early and go to bed before Dellaina for the second night in a row!
