Birthday Bounce

We had Wyatt’s 3rd birthday party at Gymnastics!  It started out with just Wyatt, Dellaina and CJ, but others trickled in: Dawn with Veronica, Jenna with Aidan, Gavin from school with his big sister who had taken gymnastics before and Samuel with E&D. Addison had gotten sick with strep and an ear infection, so they didn’t make it up. It was a good crowd and I think the kids had fun and the adults enjoyed watching. Wyatt did not take a nap, so I was concerned, but he held it together and seemed to really enjoy himself. Dellaina really had a big time, too! She’s used to just watching Wyatt, so I think she enjoyed getting to be out on the equipment. She walked well on the balance beam and even turned around on it. The young girl that was helping with the party had her lay flat on the trampoline and bounced her up and caught her in her arms! It was pretty cool to watch and I was impressed with Dellaina allowing it! multiple times!

We had an hour of play time and then just 30 minutes for eating and opening presents. We didn’t have a lot of food, mostly just cupcakes and light snacks, but we ripped through Wyatt’s presents and cleared out! They had emphasized we had to be done by 5:00, so we were pushing. Poor little fella just got to see a gift and hear, “you can play with it at home, say Thank You!” Dellaina got to open a few gifts, too and was pleased as punch with her loot as well. The cake was Captain America’s shield and turned out pretty well. Family came back to the house to hang out for a little bit.

It was a great day and I’m so thankful for a loving family willing to drive so far to celebrate with the Little Man.

At first in the car ride home, Wyatt was saying he didn’t want to open his new toys, but I think he was concerned about having to share them and he quickly forgot about that problem once we were home and went through just about all of them. He got out the Buddy (and Dellaina’s Tiny) Dinosaur Train Interactive dolls and the walking, roaring dinosaur, Spike Jr., and his multiple new Batman figures and Captain America Bobblehead. Then the animal set with mix-n-match animal parts. He, Doug & Samuel played with his new (and old) fire truck(s) for a while up in his room. He wanted to play his Super Hero Memory game, but it was getting late. I was surprised with how much he did remember given his sleepless state, but when we went to bed, he wanted to wear the new Super Hero shirts he’d gotten and asked if we could change his sheets to his new Super Hero sheets. Tomorrow, I know we will have a blast, putting on his new shoes and going out to hit baseballs from his new tee, that can even pitch it to him!

Halloween fun

This morning, Kids R Kids had a little carnival at the school. The flier said everything was free, but I expected something to cost money. It didn’t! It really was completely free! The hot dogs, drinks, cotton candy, cookie walk, art tables with stickers and lollipop ghosts, bouncy inflatable, bubble table, costumed balloon man, firetruck AND face painting were all free! It was a gorgeous day and we had a fun time. Granny & Granpa came up early and Granny came with us. Emily, Daniel & Samuel joined us as well. It was a fun time and the kids seemed fulfilled and tired by the end. I thought it was Wyatt’s first time having cotton candy, but he revealed they’d had some at Morgan’s school!
