Fabulous Dah-lin

The weekend after July 4th, I co-hosted a baby shower for Morgan with a close friend of hers from college, Rachel. We had encouraged everyone to wear a fancy hat and I think it was pretty special! I had hoped to get a great group photo with all of the hats, but never got it coordinated, so just ended up with some great mini group shots. Rachel is especially crafty and talented and made such cute goody bags and a very special craft for the nursery (that I still don’t think Morgan really knows about, so I’m not going to elaborate just yet on it). I borrowed a REALLY great hat from a friend from school who had made it for a Derby party! It was definitely a show-stopper. And Morgan’s hat fit her so perfectly. She got a lot of great, personal gifts and we had a nice time visiting and celebrating.

Little piggy

Saturday we had a fun surprise baby shower for cousin David (who was actually in on it, since it was at their house) and Lauren. They are expecting their first child in January: Jude Thomas (I really like his name, but it makes me sing the Beatles song every. single. time. I think of it. I may have to call him JT. but then, that just makes me think of well, JT; Justin Timberlake, so. . .)

It was really great to get together with family and celebrate. Dellaina was sooo excited about seeing Owen again.

Emily was actually working, but was able to find someone to come in and cover her shift for a couple of hours so she could come over! The hospital she works at is really close by and it’s actually where they will be delivering! They said they probably won’t request her to be their birthing nurse because David might not want her to see him pass out, but could still request her to be baby Jude’s nurse! awww.

there was WAY too much Tech stuff around their house, and despite our best efforts at wearing red, the Dawgs didn’t give us much to cheer about.

isn’t this invite just too cute? Check out the front in front of the diaper cake in pic above – a friend of Carmela’s designed it! I didn’t think about it until I uploaded this picture, though, that we didn’t actually have BBQ. hmm, I wonder what happened. The burgers were great, but just curious.

The nursery looks great! This picture is blurry and doesn’t do it justice at all, but I loved the color of the walls and they have excellent taste (the crib and changing table/dresser are the same as what we have, just in a darker color!)
